This type of pain often occurs due to muscle imbalances in the knee joint, hip, and pelvis areas. Knee pain can also occur when the patient’s patella doesn’t track correctly and eventually this causes inflammation of muscle tissue and a sometimes “pinching” sensation.
This pain is experienced most frequently under the patella or even at the intersection where the lower leg meets the tendon in your quadriceps.
Other forms of knee pain include iliotibial band syndrome which occurs when the hip pulls at the iliotibial band at the knee joint.
By using a combination therapy approach, your chiropractor can correct these muscle dysfunctions, reduce muscle irritation, and prevent future knee pain from occurring.
